The new year has begun...

We have IPads in the science lab! We have been familiarizing ourselves with all the IPads have to offer. Some of our favorite apps include: Anatomy, Rocket Science, Creatures of Light, Physi Bricks, Minds of Math, Astro Math, Mad Lab, Mag Free, Magniscope, Scan, Meteor Math, Geo Board, Splash Math, Division, Choc Tales, AMZ Scales, Fill the CupMonster Town Reading and Phonics, Reading Rainbow, Play 123, Science 360, Google Earth, Hubble Top 100, Mars Globe, Moon Globe, Exo Planet, Planets, Endless Alphabet, Solar System...just to name a few apps.

In the month of February, students will conduct measurement discoveries and record those discoveries using labeled diagrams, illustrations, note taking, etc. Students are expected to know which measurement tools are better for certain tasks. Some of the measurement tools that students will discover: balance scale, digital scale, graduated cylinder, spring scale, thermometer, dropper, various size containers for measuring custom and metric units, measuring spoons, clock, ruler, tape measure, string, links, centi cubes, unifix cubes, various size weights, etc. Encourage your student(s) to identify how measurement is used at home, in stores, and in other places...
